A descendant of Arthur Freeman, one of the first settlers in New Bretonshire, Marta Freeman is beloved by almost everyone in the colonies. This venerable human woman has watched over Freeman’s Landing for most of her adult life. She is humble, approachable, and has lived long enough to have seen and survive many changes in New Bretonshire.
She has often played the role of peacemaker when conflicts have risen between the colonists and the orc tribes. Many of the orcs have a certain degree of respect for the old woman as she has done much to foster a positive relationship, including making frequent journeys to the orc villages to meet with their chiefs.
